Charter is looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Project Accountant to join our growing team.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2-4 years of experience as a project accountant in construction industry
- High level of proficiency in Timberline required
- Must be competent in Microsoft Office
- Must be well organized
- Basic knowledge of Accounting Principles
- Self-starter who is able to prioritize and multi-task
- Able to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Positive attitude and team-player mentality required
- HCSS software knowledge a plus
Essential Functions:
- Manage the accounts payable function in its entirety including invoices, statements and vendor inquiries
- Setup and maintain projects within accounting system
- Enter purchase orders and subcontracts into accounting system
- Responsible for subcontractor compliance including receipt of signed contract, signed lien release, insurance certificates and timely payment
- Request insurance and bonding for projects as required
- Oversee timely and accurate monthly billings
- Assist Project Managers with re-estimates to ensure revenue and cost is recorded appropriately
- Ensure accuracy of monthly Profit & Loss statements
- Enter cash receipts and reconcile monthly bank statements
- Enter billing in various online billing modules including Wide Area Workflow and QCS as needed
- Setup and maintain contract folders
- Other projects as assigned
